My creative practice and academic work is based in sound art & design; in relationships between sound and animated short film; in performances and installations in gallery, concert hall and online environments and in written publications and conference presentations.

Two strands of my research and creative practice focus on uses of the Internet in sound art & design practices.WebJam and decentred | distributed improvisation explore the use of the Internet and Internet related technologies for distributed media improvisation.

I'm based in London, though I also work in Norwich, where I am a Senior Lecturer at Norwich University College of the Arts, UK, lecturing in Sound Art & Design and supporting the development of research. I am also a partner in European research and teaching exchanges at the Faculty of Arts, Siauliu University, Lithuania and the Animation Department, Akademie St. Joost, Netherlands.

My creative practice is inherently collaborative and interdisciplinary in nature and has in the past involved projects with other musicians, artists, film-makers, environmental scientists and researchers. More information can be found on the Projects and Development pages.
